IFAT India — A Confluence of Innovation and Impact

As India accelerates its transition toward sustainable infrastructure, IFAT India 2025 emerged once again as the country’s largest environmental technology platform, bringing together leaders in water management, waste treatment, and circular economy innovation. Held in Goregaon, Mumbai, the event showcased a powerful synergy between engineering excellence and environmental responsibility — where Indian and global companies came together to define what sustainability means for the next decade.

EQMint, India’s voice for sustainability and business innovation, was on the ground covering the event and engaging with five standout companies making a tangible difference: Potence Controls, M&J Recycling, Sintex, Thermax, and others leading the charge in clean technology and environmental innovation.

Potence Controls: “Be Indian, Buy Indian” — Precision for a Cleaner Future

At the heart of India’s water innovation story is Potence Controls Pvt. Ltd., a proudly Indian manufacturer of water quality analyzers. Operating from Rabale, Navi Mumbai, Potence has built its reputation on designing and delivering reliable, high-performance solutions that ensure the quality and safety of water across industrial and environmental applications.

From pH and conductivity analyzers to dissolved oxygen systems, their product portfolio is engineered to sustain ecosystems and serve industries seeking cleaner, smarter operations. “We make products that sustain the environment,” shared a company spokesperson. “Our mission is simple — precision, quality, and patriotism. Sustainability is the future. Be Indian, buy Indian.”

With years of participation in IFAT, Potence continues to be a trusted name in Indian instrumentation, blending technological innovation with a sense of national pride. Their presence at IFAT India 2025 reaffirmed India’s growing capabilities in homegrown environmental technology.

M&J Recycling: Turning Waste into ‘Solid Gold’

From Denmark to India, M&J Recycling has built a legacy of redefining waste management through green technology. Established in 1857, the company’s Indian operations, active since 2013, focus on waste shredding and recycling systems designed to give waste a new life. “We don’t call everything waste anymore,” their representative Sudeep Sar, VP India and Market Area Head APAC, M&J Recycling told EQMint. “For us, waste is solid gold.”

The company’s technology helps reduce global waste volumes by enabling size reduction and resource recovery. Whether waste goes to landfill, converts into energy, or ends up as an input for cement plants — M&J Recycling’s equipment provides the first critical step in that process.

At IFAT India 2025, M&J Recycling highlighted how circularity and technology go hand in hand. “IFAT India brings customers, consultants, and innovators together,” Sudeep Sar said. “It’s where we exchange ideas that drive the circular economy forward.”

Their philosophy of using less, recycling more, and viewing waste as a resource reflects a mindset shift essential for sustainable growth in India’s waste management sector.

Sintex: Reinventing Water Management for the Modern Age

Few names are as deeply ingrained in India’s water infrastructure as Sintex. Backed by the powerful Wellspun Group, Sintex has long been a household name known for water tanks — but at IFAT India 2025, the company showcased its evolution into a comprehensive water management and piping solutions provider.

Representing the brand, Abhishek Kausarikar, Head of Specifications (All India), spoke about Sintex’s vision to expand beyond traditional products. “Sintex is not just about storage anymore,” he explained. “We have expanded into water transportation, water treatment, and an extensive new piping range — CPVC, UPVC, SWR, AgriPipe, underground drainage, HDPE, and gas piping.”

The company’s new product portfolio marks a strategic push into smart, integrated water management systems, enabling customers to manage resources efficiently and sustainably. “We already have strong brand trust,” he added. “Now, we are creating a new experience for our customers — one built on innovation and reliability.”

Thermax: Engineering Tomorrow’s Water Solutions

In the field of industrial sustainability, Thermax remains a symbol of technical excellence and environmental consciousness. Representing Thermax Water and Wastewater Solutions, Rajashree Thurak, from the Technology and Innovation team, spoke about the company’s versatile range of solutions.

“We cover everything from WTPs, STPs, and ETPs to membrane technologies like tubular, hollow fiber, ceramic, and nanofiltration,” she explained. “For Zero Liquid Discharge systems, we provide MEE and MVR setups, and more advanced products are coming soon.”

Thermax’s participation at IFAT India highlighted how the company integrates innovation with impact — developing systems that not only optimize industrial operations but also minimize environmental footprint.

As sustainability regulations tighten, the company’s expertise in water reuse, recycling, and energy-efficient treatment is shaping how industries align with ESG goals.

The Bigger Picture: Sustainability as the New Industrial Standard

The conversations at IFAT India 2025 revealed a powerful undercurrent — sustainability is no longer a side initiative; it’s becoming the core of business strategy. From startups to legacy manufacturers, companies are rethinking their operations around circular principles, digital technologies, and community responsibility.

The event also underscored India’s growing capability to produce world-class environmental solutions. Whether it’s Potence Controls’ Indian-made analyzers, M&J Recycling’s global green tech expertise, Sintex’s integrated water systems, or Thermax’s high-efficiency treatment plants — the narrative is clear: sustainability and profitability can thrive together.

Conclusion: EQMint at the Forefront of Green Conversations

As IFAT India 2025 wrapped up, it was evident that the future of industrial India is being built not just on innovation, but on responsible innovation.

Through its exclusive coverage, EQMint captured the voices of pioneers driving the sustainability movement — companies that are reimagining technology’s role in conserving water, reducing waste, and protecting the planet.
