Anthropic’s founders are seeking greater voting control over the artificial intelligence company as it prepares for a potential initial public offering (IPO), according to a report by TechCrunch.
Under the proposed structure, co-founders Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei could receive shares with enhanced voting rights. The arrangement would allow the founders to retain greater influence over major corporate decisions even as ownership becomes more widely distributed following a public listing.
The move comes as Anthropic continues to expand its position in the competitive AI industry. The company, known for its Claude family of AI models, has attracted significant investment as demand for generative AI technology grows.
Anthropic has not formally announced an IPO date, and the company’s plans could change before any public listing. A founder-focused voting structure would also become an important governance consideration for prospective investors if the company proceeds with an IPO.
