The Bharat Ethanol Forum and Maize Markets Summit & Expo 2026 concluded in Mumbai, bringing together policymakers, farmers, scientists and industry leaders to discuss India’s ethanol roadmap beyond E20.
Held at The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake, the event focused on ethanol production, feedstock security, farmer welfare and technologies shaping India’s biofuel sector.
Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, who delivered the keynote, highlighted ethanol’s potential to reduce India’s exposure to global oil-market volatility and geopolitical disruptions. Speakers also discussed timely sugarcane payments, vehicle compatibility and fuel efficiency.
Business sessions covered feedstock diversification, sugar mill sustainability, second-generation (2G) ethanol and compressed biogas (CBG). The accompanying trade and technology expo showcased solutions across fermentation, enzymes, distillery technology, water management and sustainable aviation fuel.
The Maize Markets Summit focused on feedstock security and rising demand for maize from food, feed and biofuel industries.
The wider gathering also featured the BioResources & Circular Economy Summit and Global Turmeric Conclave, covering agricultural waste, circular economy practices, resource management and turmeric value addition.
