The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) reported a 9% year-on-year increase in consolidated income to ₹4,554 crore for Q2 FY27. Revenue from operations grew 11% to ₹4,067 crore.

Profit after tax increased 23% year-on-year to ₹2,578 crore, while earnings per share stood at ₹10.41. The exchange maintained strong profitability, with a reported EBITDA margin of 76% and net profit margin of 58%.

Total expenditure declined 51% to ₹1,161 crore, primarily due to a one-time SEBI fee incurred in the previous year. Excluding this impact, normalized expenses increased 10% year-on-year.

Growth Plans and Management Outlook

NSE is awaiting RBI approval for Corporate Bond Index Futures and plans to expand its Market Lens platform to cover more than 2,000 stocks.

The exchange is also integrating generative AI into compliance, support and development functions, with operations hosted on private data centres. It has added approximately 800 colocation rack equivalents since January 2025, with further infrastructure upgrades planned.

Management also highlighted potential risks from geopolitical tensions, oil price fluctuations, taxation changes and SEBI regulatory policies that could influence trading volumes and market activity.
