Jemimah Rodrigues Leads Delhi Capitals to 7-Wicket Win with Match-Winning Fifty

Jemimah Rodrigues, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, was also given the Player of the Match due to her brilliant knock. She claimed that it was a very good team game and complimented Marizanne Kapp, who was very good during the Powerplay. Jemimah pointed out that the initial partnership between Shafali Verma and Lizelle Lee was a good start to a chase.

She said Kapp is very explicit about what she is planning to do and is always trying to get better, and also said that Kapp helped her through the closing overs. Jemimah said that she took time to prepare at the beginning, remained composed, and after she got prepared, she could score easily because she was clear at the crease.

She thought that the conditions were evaluated well by the team, and that anything less than 160 would have been a competitive total. Jemimah concluded by noting that she has learnt a lot by observing how Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur go about their innings.

Lizelle Lee says that this is not an easy wicket to play on, but it went very well with the bat. Lee, on her stumping, says it was a brilliant take on the part of the keeper but does not wish to comment further on it. But the Mumbai Indians are already in 6 games, and all the rest are in 5 games, which complicates the situation of the current champions to an even greater extent. Then, the remaining two teams, at 4 points each, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz, have a match on the 14th of the season.
