Mumbai, February 28, 2026: Sweden-based global technology collective QGroup has entered India’s digital product engineering market through a strategic partnership with entrepreneur Deepak Kumar Choubey, an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology Madras, with plans to invest up to $2.5 million over the next three years.

The collaboration has resulted in the launch of Sliq Group, formally operating as Software Labs India with QGroup (SLIQ Group), a venture aimed at building globally competitive digital products and platforms from India. The move marks QGroup’s formal re-entry into India’s product engineering and digital transformation ecosystem, as the company looks to tap into the country’s growing technology and startup market.

Operating across more than 15 countries, QGroup has traditionally focused on digital services and platform engineering through a network of specialised companies. Through Sliq Group, the collective is now targeting product-led development, user experience design, and AI-powered platforms—segments industry observers view as the next stage of value creation in India’s technology sector.

The new entity brings together QGroup founders Mikael Kretz, Hakan Paulsson and Jon Carvell, along with Choubey, who has previously worked on research-led technology initiatives at CERN and held leadership roles across Indian enterprises. His professional background also includes stints at ITC Limited and ICICI Bank, as well as founding an AI automation startup. He has also been part of the accelerator programme at Draper University.

Company executives said the partnership seeks to address a perceived gap in India’s technology landscape, where large-scale engineering capabilities are well established but product strategy, design thinking, and long-term digital ownership remain comparatively underdeveloped.

The planned investment will be directed toward building proprietary AI tools, strengthening product engineering teams, and potentially acquiring boutique technology firms to accelerate capabilities. The company expects the capital deployment to help shorten time-to-market for clients while improving operational efficiency through automation-led workflows.

Sliq Group’s service portfolio will span product strategy, UX design, SaaS and e-commerce platforms, AI-enabled workflow solutions, full-stack development, enterprise digital transformation, and legacy system modernisation. Its target customers include growth-stage startups, mid-sized firms, and enterprises looking to transition from service-driven IT models to product-centric digital businesses.

QGroup operates as part of Nexer Group, which manages a portfolio of technology-focused companies delivering digital platforms globally. The company’s India entry reflects increasing investor confidence in the country’s ability to move up the value chain from outsourced services to end-to-end product innovation.

Industry analysts note that such partnerships signal a broader shift toward “India in-sourcing,” where digital products for global markets are conceived, designed, and engineered locally rather than developed solely as offshore extensions.

Sliq Group will be headquartered in Mumbai, with plans to expand hiring across engineering, design, and product functions over the coming quarters.
