Deepinder Goyal, the founder of Zomato, has publicly invited former employees to join the food delivery giant in a new phase of growth.
In a touching post on X, formerly Twitter, Goyal stressed that the door is open to anyone who has worked at Zomato or any part of its group, either voluntarily or let go.
Acknowledge and Reflect: The Evolution of Zomato
Goyal started by saying that it is true that for many employees, Zomato’s experience might not have been very satisfying as they expected it to be, either because of the environment or leadership problems. However, he also acknowledged that many employees genuinely liked the company, and after leaving, they probably didn’t feel as comfortable as Zomato was for them.
Goyal explained in his write-up that “over 400 people are currently working at Eternal” – Zomato’s parent company, together with other businesses like Blinkit Quick-Commerce, Blinkit Ambulances, Hyperpure, Nugget, District, and Feeding India. The longevity of worker turnover ranges from the second or third years and a lot of these employees have been doing most of their work. He indicates that such a result is due to the decompression of the individual and the company growth that they have both undergone over time.”
Goyal penned, “Today, we have more than four hundred people at Eternal who are in their second or third stints. “They are probably doing their best now,” he continued. “It might be that they’ve matured, but also the fact that the company has grown. “We have become more proficient, slightly less disorderly, and hopefully, I might have understood a few things as well.”

Embracing Growth and Change
Goyal talked about the hesitation of some ex-employees going back and making it clear that the door is still open, and he is not keeping the past alive. One of his messages was especially targeted at those who might have thought that the chance of coming back to Zomato or Eternal was gone.
“If you haven’t contacted me because you thought the door was closed, or because you thought I was holding onto the past, I’m not. I want you back,” Goyal stressed in his post. This was part of the larger plan of Eternal’s revival and expansion, where he thinks that now they have to get the people who have seen excellence in their org and can help them to achieve it.
When people were worried that Eternal would be different without Goyal as the CEO, he gave them a hint that titles have never been the most important thing at the company. According to him, the major focus has always been the work, not the title. He also assured them that even though he has a different role now, he is still very much involved with the company’s day-to-day activities and he is fully committed to its success.
“You could say that Eternal will not be the same since I am no longer the CEO. But think about it. Have titles ever mattered at Eternal? I am very much here, and I would love for you to be a part of this next phase of Eternal,” Goyal stated.
A Call for the Next Chapter
Goyal invited anyone who might have had “unfinished business” with the organization or who felt that they could help in its growth to contact him personally. He talked about the possibility of him and the person together figuring out what could be their ideal roles at the moment and of giving us an opportunity to create something significant together. Goyal even joked that pollution is still a problem in Gurgaon, but the chance to work with Eternal was a hopeful “feature.”
To those former employees who are not sure if they want to return or have felt quite out of place, the message of Goyal is very direct: the door is wide open, and the company’s change has set a new stage. As the company gets bigger and becomes more structured, the invitation of Goyal is a good chance to come back, make a contribution, and develop in a polished and customer-oriented setting.
