12 May, 2026: Delhi Capitals pulled off one of the most dramatic chases of IPL 2026 after defeating Punjab Kings by 3 wickets in a high-scoring thriller at Dharamshala.

Chasing a massive target of 211, DC completed the highest successful IPL chase ever at the venue and kept their playoff hopes alive in style.

Punjab Kings looked in control early after posting a strong total of 210/5.

Captain Shreyas Iyer anchored the innings brilliantly with an unbeaten 59, while Priyansh Arya added a quickfire 56 to give PBKS strong momentum through the middle overs.

The Punjab batting lineup attacked aggressively throughout the innings and looked set to defend the total comfortably.

Delhi Capitals, however, responded with remarkable composure despite a disastrous start.

DC were reduced to 33/3 early in the chase, placing the match heavily in Punjab’s favour. But that is where the game completely changed.

Axar Patel produced one of his most impactful IPL knocks, smashing 56 runs off just 30 balls and shifting momentum back towards Delhi.

Instead of playing cautiously under pressure, Axar counterattacked aggressively and disrupted Punjab’s bowling plans.

David Miller then continued the momentum with a crucial 51 off 28 deliveries. His experience during pressure chases once again proved valuable as Delhi slowly regained control of the game.

The partnership between Axar Patel and David Miller became the turning point of the match.

Punjab Kings had opportunities during the death overs, but Delhi managed to hold their nerve and finished the chase in just 19 overs.

The defeat now puts additional pressure on Punjab Kings heading into the final phase of the tournament.

For Delhi Capitals, however, the victory could become season-defining. Beyond the two points, the win restored belief inside a side that has struggled with consistency throughout IPL 2026.

More importantly, the chase highlighted how dangerous Delhi’s batting lineup can become once momentum starts building.
