Waterways Leisure Tourism Limited (BSE: 544802, NSE: CORDELIA), the operator of Cordelia Cruises, has begun two-ship operations, with Cordelia Sky sailing from Mumbai and Cordelia Empress starting its season from Kochi.
On 23 October 2026, nearly 6,000 guests embarked and disembarked across both ships at Mumbai port, according to the company’s exchange filing dated 26 October.
Two ships, two homeports
Cordelia Sky can accommodate 2,280 guests across 1,002 staterooms. Its Mumbai itineraries include weekend cruises, Lakshadweep trips and longer sailings combining Goa and Lakshadweep.
Cordelia Empress’s Kochi programme includes weekend cruises, Lakshadweep itineraries and an international sailing connecting Kochi with Malé in the Maldives and Colombo in Sri Lanka. The new homeport gives the operator access to travellers in southern India.
Fleet expansion continues
The company plans to add Cordelia Sun in 2027, potentially expanding its fleet to three ships. It also says it has carried more than 800,000 guests since 2021.
However, the announcement does not disclose occupancy rates, ticket pricing, operating costs or expected revenue from the expansion. The financial impact will depend on passenger demand, onboard spending and the costs of operating the additional ship and homeport.
The two-ship launch marks an operational expansion for Cordelia Cruises, but future quarterly results will be important in assessing whether the increased capacity translates into stronger earnings.
