India’s gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections remained above ₹2 lakh crore for the third consecutive month in September 2026, rising 14.7% year-on-year to ₹2.04 lakh crore. The growth rate was higher than the 14.3% recorded in August, according to government data reported by Moneycontrol.
September collections were supported by a sharp increase in import-related GST, which rose 25.9% to ₹65,525 crore. Domestic GST revenue increased 10.1% to ₹1.38 lakh crore. After refunds, net GST revenue rose 18.1% year-on-year to ₹1.77 lakh crore.
For April-September 2026, gross GST collections reached ₹12.46 lakh crore, up 11.6% from the same period last year. Net collections stood at ₹10.66 lakh crore, marking a 10.4% increase.
