Defence technology company Apollo Micro Systems Limited (NSE: APOLLO) has received the Transfer of Technology (ToT) for the Semi Active Laser Homing System (SALHS), a precision-guidance technology designed to guide munitions towards laser-designated targets.
The ToT was presented at VIMARSH 2026 in New Delhi, in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, marking another step in Apollo Micro Systems’ efforts to expand its portfolio of indigenous defence technologies.
How the Semi Active Laser Homing System Works
The SALHS uses a laser designator to illuminate a designated target. A seeker integrated into the munition detects the laser energy reflected from that target and uses the information to guide the munition during flight.
The system includes a Semi-Active Laser seeker and precision optical detection technology, enabling the munition to make course corrections while in flight.
Apollo said the system has been designed with a multi-platform architecture, allowing it to be integrated across different missile and munition applications.
The technology is expected to strengthen the company’s capabilities in precision-guided defence systems and contribute to the development of indigenous solutions for India’s defence requirements.
MIGM Vighana Handover at VIMARSH 2026
The VIMARSH 2026 event also featured the handover ceremony for MIGM (Multi-Influence Ground Mine) – Vighana.
Apollo Micro Systems is an approved production agency for the programme under the DRDO Development cum Production Partner (DcPP) framework.
The programme received approval from the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) on July 3, 2026, along with an Acceptance of Necessity from the Ministry of Defence, and is now moving towards production.
Apollo said it is involved across the manufacturing chain for the programme, covering areas including fibres, electronics and explosives.

Apollo Micro Systems Managing Director B. Karunakar Reddy described the SALHS ToT as an important milestone for the company.
According to the company, the technology transfer represents more than the acquisition of a new defence technology and forms part of its broader focus on indigenisation and self-reliance in precision-guided defence systems.
The development comes as India continues to expand domestic defence manufacturing and increase the participation of Indian companies in the development and production of advanced military technologies.
