Now, the playoff conversation around CSK has completely changed.

A combination of timely victories, improved net run rate pressure on rivals and favourable results elsewhere has suddenly brought Chennai Super Kings back into serious qualification contention.

The shift has dramatically changed the mood around the franchise.

For weeks, CSK struggled with inconsistency across departments. The batting lacked rhythm, the bowling looked vulnerable under pressure, and questions around team balance kept growing. But recent performances have revived belief inside the dressing room.

More importantly, Chennai now appear to have regained clarity at exactly the right stage of the tournament. The middle order has started contributing more consistently, while the bowling attack has looked calmer during death overs compared to earlier matches.

The biggest boost for CSK, however, has been momentum.
