Shares of French automotive technology company FORVIA jumped more than 6% after the company announced a new joint venture in India with the Anand Group, strengthening its presence in the country’s automotive components market.

The partnership will focus on automotive seating systems, with Anand Group’s Gabriel India set to hold a 50% stake minus one share in the new venture. The deal is expected to combine FORVIA’s global technology and product capabilities with Anand Group’s established manufacturing and customer base in India.

The announcement comes as global automotive suppliers increasingly look to India as a key growth market, supported by rising vehicle production and demand for advanced components.

For FORVIA, the partnership provides an opportunity to expand its seating business in India while working with a local automotive supplier with an established presence in the market. For Anand Group, the JV brings access to FORVIA’s global seating technology and expertise.

The market reacted positively to the announcement, with FORVIA shares rising more than 6% following the news.

The partnership highlights the growing importance of India in the global automotive supply chain and could support further investment and localisation in advanced automotive components.
