The 29th edition of Globoil India 2026 is set to bring together global and Indian leaders from the edible oils, oilseeds and agri-commodity sectors in Mumbai from September 29 to October 1, 2026.
The three-day event will be held at The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake and is organized by Tefla’s, a business conference and industry engagement platform with more than three decades of experience.
This year’s conference will focus on the forces shaping global edible oil markets, including crop fundamentals, geopolitical developments, biofuel demand, sustainability regulations, supply chain disruptions, and technology. A key focus will be the 2026–27 outlook for prices and supply across palm, soybean, and sunflower oils.
Global Edible Oil Market Outlook
The international program on September 30 will begin with a session titled “South American Superpowers—Argentina & Colombia Rewriting Global Oilseed Trade.” The session will feature Gustavo Idígoras, President of CIARA-CEC, Argentina, and Nicolás Pérez-Marulanda, Executive President of FEDEPALMA.
Dr. Julian McGill, Managing Director of Glenauk Economics, will discuss the Southeast Asia Palm & Supply Outlook.
The conference will also feature a dedicated Global Sunflower Oil Outlook, with Alexey Okhlopkov, CEO of RusAgro Oil, Russia. The session will be chaired by Akshay Chowdhry of Gemini Edibles & Fats India and will include experts from Ukraine and Russia.
The inaugural ceremony will feature an address by YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini binti Ahmad, Malaysia’s Minister of Plantation and Commodities, along with a keynote by Mdm. Izzana Salleh, Secretary General, CPOPC.
Palm Oil, Exchanges and Sustainability
A dedicated session on “Powering Global Edible Oil Trade Through Smart Exchanges” will examine the role of commodity exchanges, derivatives, and risk-management tools in international trade.
The session will be chaired by Mrugank Paranjpee, Managing Partner at MCQube and former Managing Director of MCX, with participation from representatives of CME Group, Bursa Malaysia Berhad, MCX and NCDEX.
The Palm Oil Session, led by Atul Chaturvedi, Chief Mentor of GLOBOIL and Chairman of the Asian Palm Oil Alliance, will feature representatives from GAPKI, CPOPC and the Malaysian Palm Oil Council.
Sustainability will also feature prominently through “Greening the Value Chain — EUDR Countdown, Traceability & Smallholder Inclusion.” The session will include Nadir Godrej, Chairman Emeritus, Godrej Industries Group; Dr. Inke van der Sluijs of RSPO; and Jagjeet Singh Kandal, Country Director, IDH India.
Leading Indian Food and Oil Executives to Participate
One of the key sessions will be “The Great Food & Oils Leadership Exchange,” a CEO panel moderated by Manisha Gupta, Head Group Commodities at CNBC TV-18.
The panel will feature senior executives from companies including AWL Agri Business, Patanjali Foods, Emami Agrotech, Godrej Agrovet, Bunge India and ITC Foods Division.
Discussions will cover India’s changing edible oils and food landscape, including consumption trends, procurement, margins, supply security, consumer preferences, value addition and the industry’s future direction.
Traders to Discuss 2026–27 Price Outlook
Commodity price volatility will be a major theme at “Price Outlook 2026–27 — The Traders’ Power Panel.”
The session will be chaired by Sandeep Bajoria, CEO of Sunvin Group, and co-chaired by Mrituenjay Jha, Commodity Editor & Anchor at Zee Business.
The panel will bring together traders and industry representatives from Gemini Edibles & Fats India, Olam Agri, Gujarat Ambuja Exports, Bunge India, Godrej International Trading & Investment, Emami Agrotech, Gokul Agro Resources, StoneX Singapore, Patanjali Foods, GGN International, Pacific Inter-Link, NK Proteins and Gulab Oils.
The discussion will focus on the market signals that could influence the next price cycle across vegetable oils and oilseeds.
AI and Biofuels Take Center Stage
Technology will feature strongly on October 1, with a session titled “The Algorithm That Will Feed a Billion: AI & Next-Gen Processing.” The session will examine the role of artificial intelligence and new processing technologies in the food and edible oils industry.
This will be followed by “Food vs Fuel—The Biofuel Demand Shock,” which will examine the impact of growing biofuel programs on vegetable oil demand, food availability, trade flows and prices.
Participants will include Dr. Sathia Varqa of Fastmarkets Palm Oil Analytics, along with senior representatives from Indian Oil, Renuka Sugars and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.
Thomas Mielke, Nagaraj Meda and Dorab Mistry to Present Outlook
The concluding market outlook on October 1 will feature three prominent industry voices.
Thomas Mielke, Executive Director of ISTA Mielke GmbH – OIL WORLD, Germany, will present the Global Supply, Demand & Price Outlook 2026–27.
Nagaraj Meda, CMD of Transgraph Consulting, will discuss the structural outlook for the global oil and oilseed complex.
The closing keynote will be delivered by Dorab Mistry, Director at Godrej International, on the Global Vegetable Oil Price Outlook 2026–27.
The conference will conclude with the Asia-Africa Agri Alliance, extending discussions to agricultural trade, investment, and value-chain collaboration between Asia and Africa.
Globoil Awards 2026
The Globoil Awards 2026 Gala Night will be held on September 30, recognizing individuals and organizations across the edible oils, oilseeds and allied industries.
Award categories include Globoil India Legend, Globoil India Man of the Year, Globoil India International Award, Globoil International Professional of the Year, Globoil Rising Star of the Year, Globoil Global Sustainability Star of the Year and Globoil Women Professional of the Year.
The awards also include trade categories recognizing leading suppliers and importers of palm oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil and soya seeds.
Trade awards will be evaluated for the period April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026.
